Founding Principles

The Northumberland Breakers Volleyball Club is a competitive organization dedicated to advancing the personal and athletic development of youth through the pursuit of excellence in volleyball. We will offer a top quality club experience through intense training and competitive tournaments utilizing coaching staff that is knowledgeable, dedicated and caring.

• We are a community-based non-profit organization committed to training and developing athletes through competitive participation in the sport of volleyball.
• We are a group of coaches, parents, and athletes supported by a strong administrative structure with clear areas of accountability and channels of communication.
• We are committed to developing the whole athlete through the latest coaching techniques and philosophies consistent with Ontario Volleyball and Volleyball Canada.
• We provide our elite athletes access to regional, provincial, and national programs.
• We provide guidance to families whose son or daughter may be qualified to pursue post secondary athletic opportunities.
• We provide, when available, needs-based financial assistance to ensure that participation is available to all qualified athletes.
• We expect coaches, players, and parents to always encourage good sportsmanship and always act with high personal integrity when representing the club.
• We promote having fun in all we do.
• We create positive awareness within the community by developing a working relationship with area colleges, schools, and community groups.
• We are an open, interactive and transparent organization that listens to the needs of the parents and athletes of the club.
• We develop life skills through teaching and coaching. Experienced players are encouraged to acquire coaching certification and are given an opportunity to work with younger volleyball athletes within the organization and our community.
